TrueWind Music House Concerts We have sold our home in Campbell and are not scheduling further house concerts at this time. Sign up for the TrueWind Music email Newsletter and we'll keep you posted on what lies ahead. Craig Carothers -
Sunday March 14, 2010 Please note we are not scheduling further House Concerts at this time. We continue to host a monthly acoustic songwriter series at Mission City Coffee in Santa Clara in addition to our own touring. Here's a short video introduction to the house concert experience from our Friends at Concerts in Your Home - you'll see several photos from our TrueWind Music events.
More About our TrueWind Music House Concerts We do not sell "tickets" for our house concert series because we are not a public venue. We do require reservations, which you can make by clicking here to send an email to us. We'll reply with directions and further information about the evening. The night of the performance, we collect a suggested donation $15 (or more) per person, which all goes to the musicians. We begin the evening with a "soup plus potluck." We provide soup and guests bring appetizers and desserts. We do not serve or allow alcohol at our house concerts, but we do provide bottled water, lemonade and coffee. Our house concerts are not typically appropriate for children, as our goal is to provide a respectful listening environment. About Reservations We seat about 30-40 people at our house concerts. Our living room is not a commercial venture in a public venue which means that people can't just drop by to see if there's room. For this reason, we consider your reservation to be a commitment to attend. If you find that you are not able to attend, please let us know right away, as we often have a waiting list. If you must cancel at the last minute, consider purchasing a CD from the artist online to show your support. What to Expect You are welcome in our home! We have several "regulars" who come to nearly every show, and we always have new comers who've never experienced a house concert before. We want you to feel welcome, whether you're alone or with a group, if you want to chat and make new friends, or keep to yourself. Whatever your situation, you're in for a wonderful, intimate experience of music that will touch your soul. Children While we hope that you will expose your children to live music, only you can decide at what age your children can truly enjoy a live concert. Generally pre-school and school aged children become bored and antsy, possibly disrupting the performance as well as the experience of other concert-goers. We can not allow children in the unsupervised areas of our house or yard. Other House Policies No smoking inside the house. No alcohol at the concerts. No dogs or other pets. Artist Booking Information We are winding down as a house concert "series," as we pursue our own touring. We will still continue to host house concerts from time to time, but we are not actively booking. If you're looking to connect with house concert hosts, please consider joining www.ConcertsInYourHome.com as well as attending the annual FAR-West music conference to network with house concert and venue presenters throughout the West.
